Greetings Math Students,

Great job wrapping up Unit 4.  Lots of wonderful growth.

We started our Unit 5 (Measurement using the Metric System) on Tuesday this week.  We are taking the first steps together, and so we worked on our first homework in class.

That means NO HOMEWORK on Thursday night.

Take care.

Tuesday, February 10, 2015

Greetings Math Students,

Here is the homework for a Tuesday night:

*Not due until Thursday, but we always recommend doing it Tuesday night while it's fresh in your minds.

All Groups:  Just page 114 in your NEW H and R booklets.

*We started lesson 1, but it's a long introduction to Measuring using the Metric System, so we'll finish on Thursday in class with page 113

*Don't forget the CHALLENGE...can you find the other countries in the world (besides the U.S. that DON'T use the Metric System?)  Come with your answers tomorrow.

That's all folks,

MR. K

Monday, February 9, 2015

Greetings Math Students,

Here is the homework for a Monday,

All Groups looked over their Unit 4 Math tests.  They will not go home yet.  There are several student who will re-do their tests.  We want to re-teach pieces and improve some of the scores.  So make sure you note that your son/daughter can share their scores, but those who received under and 80% will have a chance to try it again.

Tonight:  please do page 112 (the last page in your H and R) as practice.
*Kiwi group...you do not need to do the stretch your thinking.

Thanks.

Thursday, February 5, 2015

Greetings one and all,

OK, tomorrow is the day for our Unit 4 Test.

Several things to use to review and study tonight:

1.  The quizzes we just took on Tuesday (3 and 4).  Great review.  Really those questions on quiz 3 are even tougher than the ones you'll see tomorrow, but they will help get you ready.

2.  We took a practice test on Wednesday and corrected it today in class.  That is also perfect for reminding you of the key vocabulary terms:  prime, composite, factor pairs, situation equations, and solution equations.

3.  I'd also take home you hard cover book tonight to check vocabulary terms and simply flip through some of the unit 4 pages to double check the sample problems.

*Don't forget...tomorrow's test is multiple choice, so use your good test taking skills, such as crossing out silly answers or answers you simply know are wrong, and double checking the remaining choices.

You're ready!!!  You'll do great.

The test is getting moved to Friday this week.

*We took 2 mini quizzes today (they make great study guides).
*We will have homework tomorrow night in which we'll do a practice test.
*We'll spend time in class Thursday review and practicing.  No homework Thursday night.

We'll Test Friday.

Sound good?

Good!
